Out of The Ashes Book Blitz Giveaway

Out of the Ashes
Samantha Grosser
Publication date: August 4th 2022
Genres: Adult, Historical

Amid the ruins of the Second World War, an illegal and tentative relationship begins.

England 1944. As Allied forces battle their way through Europe, German prisoners of war are sent to camps all over England. In a sleepy Somerset village, Clare is still grieving for her husband when the first prisoners arrive.

As the men start working on the farm, it isn’t long before she finds herself face to face with the enemy who made her a widow. Hating them all, she avoids them as best as she can. But when one of them saves a young child’s life, she is forced to reconsider. As an unexpected and illicit connection develops between them, her loyalties are stretched to the limit.

Their secret doesn’t last. Shunned by family and friends for illegal fraternisation with the enemy, Clare risks losing all she has. Then long-held secrets are brought to light and she must make an impossible choice.

In a world that has changed beyond recognition, can they find a way to build a future together, or will their happiness be destroyed by the burdens of the past?

EXCERPT:

She sat at the table, numb. She should have sweet tea, she thought, remembering it was supposed to be good for shock, but she was unable to bring herself to make the effort and the stove remained blank and unlit. She waited, expecting the numbness to pass and the pain of the grief to take over, but there was nothing. Her body felt as though it belonged to someone else, and her thoughts drifted, hazy and unformed. What was wrong with her? She had heard of other women collapsing with such news, weeping and hysterical. Why did she feel so empty?

She laid the telegram on the table and straightened it out against the tablecloth, letting her eyes wander over the brief impersonal notice again, Walter’s death contained within it. How could so few words hold such momentous news? A letter would follow, it said. But really, what more was there to say? She would never hear her husband’s voice again, nor hold him in her arms. Their son no longer had a father.

She let out a breath, unaware she had been holding it, and feeling began at last to creep through her veins, a hollow in her guts. She placed her hand on top of the telegram, covering the words. She had always known, she thought. Right from the beginning when he told her he was going she had known, and she had spent all her tears and anger then in bitter fights and cruel words she had regretted ever since. Now she would never have a chance to make up for saying them.

The memory of the last time she saw him flickered through her thoughts – the sadness in his eyes as he turned to walk away from her along the platform with the kitbag on his shoulder, a stranger in his uniform. She had watched him mount the carriage steps, squeezed his hand a final time, until with a hiss of steam and a whistle he was gone. She had known even then they would not meet again.

A dog’s bark outside in the yard roused her from her thoughts and she lifted her head towards the noise. The clock on the mantelpiece struck the half-hour. Soon Eric would be home and she would have to tell him that his father was dead. She shuddered at the thought of it and sighed, tracing the words on the telegram with her fingertips as though she might feel Walter’s presence within them – his warmth, his kindness, his laughter. The hollow inside her began to fill with pain, and her vision blurred with sudden tears. She pressed her hand against the sheet of paper under her palm. She would have to tell Walter’s mother too, she remembered then, and his sister and her husband, everyone else in the village. She would have to say it aloud.

Walter is dead.

She wrapped her thoughts around the words and tried to roll them on her tongue, but her mouth refused to form the sounds. Her breath began to catch in her chest and as she wiped at her face where the tears had started to fall, she cast a glance towards the door. She wasn’t sure if she could face it. It was the thought that she must say the words to others that finally broke her defences. Lowering her face into her hands, she began to weep at last.

Brutal Winter Book Blitz Giveaway

Brutal Winter
Quirah Casey
Publication date: April 20th 2021
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Reverse Harem, Romance

I’ve always hated winter. This year when it comes, I’ll belong to them.

When you sign your soul over to the devil, there are no take backs.

I knew the terms of the contract when I signed it.

For one year, my life isn’t mine.

For one year I am to obey, to be seen not heard.

For one year I’m theirs, mind, body, and soul.

The bodyguard. The fixer. The maniac. The boss.
Four men on a path to ruin me.

I may be theirs for a year, but the damage they plan on doing to me will last a lifetime. That’s if I even survive, because between the family and their enemies, the odds of me even making it past the end of winter are low.

This is the first book in a dark reverse harem contemporary romance series that will contain explicit language and graphic scenes. This series will contain triggering material such as dub con and non con. It is not for the faint of heart.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

He leans over until his face is right in front of mine. His warm breath moves over my face. His voice is low and coiled with tension. “Did that make you feel better?”

I can only stare at him, my jaw tight, because no that didn’t make me feel better, not even close. There’s still this right tension inside of me demanding to be satisfied.

My eyes drift down to Vito’s lips, to the way they’re pulled down and oh so close to my face. And again, I act without thinking, pressing my lips to his.

Neither of us move for a second, our lips touching but nothing more until I move a fraction closer. Vito’s hand wraps in my hair and he pulls, pressing my lips harder against his and I let out a startled gasp. He takes the moment to dip his tongue between my lips, drinking in the moan that leaves my mouth.

I reach out, gripping his neck roughly. I dig my fingernails into his skin as heat moves through my body. His lips move away from mine as he jerks my head back, his mouth dancing over the skin of my neck. Goosebumps break across my flesh.

My legs spread as he steps closer before he’s lowering me back, my back slamming against the mattress. His hard body comes over mine and I wrap my legs against his waist, my head falling back to give him more access to my neck.

I know that it’s wrong, that I shouldn’t be allowing this to happen, to participate.

But with the hollow feeling in my soul, all I want is to feel.

And the way that Vito touches me, kisses me, it crushes the simple word and morphs into something stronger.

Fox Blitz Giveaway!

Fox
Nana Malone
(The Player, #4)
Publication date: April 11th 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance, Sports
Money, power, prestige…washout. Fox Coulter is…the Player.
There is no Plan B for Fox. All he has is hockey. All he’s ever had is hockey. That and his best friend, Sasha. So when she’s up rent creek with no roommate, it’s Fox to the rescue. But, with the opportunity of a lifetime on the line will his hotter-than-sin-best friend be more of a distraction than his lucky charm?
Sasha Tenison believes everyone should have rules. Rules like:
· Don’t ogle your best friend while he works out shirtless. It doesn’t matter how many muscles or tattoos he has.
· Don’t fantasize about what he tastes like, even if it’s been years since anyone’s kissed you.
· Don’t sleep with your best friend just because he’s hot, sexy, and the only one to ever believe in you.
Breaking even one of these rules will ruin everything. But one toe curling kiss from Fox and she’s ready to change her name to Rule Breaker.
EXCERPT:
This is just a kiss. Fox’s thoughts swirled in his head. Liar.
He gently brushed his lips to hers. There was an immediate spark.
What the hell?
Instead of pulling back, Fox chased that spark. Sasha parted her lips in a gasp, his tongue sliding into the warm depth of her mouth, asking hers to play. When she stroked her tongue against his, he moaned. He couldn’t help it. He deepened the kiss while his hand slid from her jaw into her hair.
Sasha reached up, her arms winding around his neck. Her fingers teased the hair at his nape.
Oh, hell, Fox thought. This was not supposed to—
Sasha arched her back into the kiss, pressing her breasts firmly against his body, and Fox lost total control as he continued to chase the spark as if it were pulling her further and further into him. He dove headfirst into the abyss.
The two of them had just entered completely uncharted territory. It started from something silly. Now it was all too serious. He leaned her backwards, both of them shifting and sliding until she lay along the length of the couch, Fox over her, his hips nestled between her thighs. His lips never leaving hers.
His dick rested against her burning heat as he pressed against her, begging her to let him in. His mind sought any remaining shred of control, but it was long gone. Sasha, his best friend, tasted fucking incredible. He couldn’t help but gently rock his hips against her, and what do you know, Sasha widened her legs to give him more room.
He held himself slightly above her, so as to not crush her with his full weight. All the while she rocked her hips up, seeking more of him, and he couldn’t help himself. In the matter of a minute they had gone from friendly kissing to desperately pawing at each other and he slipped his hand under her tank top.
She’s so damn soft. I just want a taste of her belly button, and up along the bottom of her ribcage.
Sasha arched up as if inviting him. God, yes. He wanted to slide his hand up farther still, cupping her fullness in his palm. He wanted to see how well they fit together. The thought had been clawing at him for so long. The alarm bells blared, but the devil on his shoulder just shouted over the din. Go on. Cup her. You know you want to. She wants it too. She wants your hands on her. Your thumbs on her nipple. But somehow rationality prevailed, and he just barely managed to keep from sliding his palm up over her full curves.
It took his lips longer to get the memo though. When they finally did, they staged a small mutiny before he dragged them away from hers as gently as he could. He kissed along her jaw-line and had to force himself to sit up and back away…all the way over to the far side of the couch. Whatever the hell had happened here was very dangerous. Destructive.
He couldn’t live without Sasha, he needed her like he needed to breathe. He knew what he was like, so he wasn’t going to ruin this by taking it to a point of no return. He took her hand and tugged her into a sitting position.
“Now that’s how that dipshit should have been kissing you.” he said before settling back against the couch like she hadn’t just rocked his whole world upside down.

Quarterback Colin O’Connor knows he’s become the ultimate romance novel cliché: all the success he’s ever dreamed of but nobody to share it with. Too bad it’s not as simple as asking out the next girl who intrigues him – because the next girl to intrigue him probably won’t be a girl at all.
Unexpectedly, the solution comes in one neat package: Nick Wheeler, lead journalist for a leading sports and pop culture blog. Hired by Colin’s team, Nick comes to Miami to shine a spotlight on the NFL’s most private quarterback.
The heat in Miami rises when Nick discovers that Colin is nothing like the hollow personality he pretends to be in interviews and he’s even hotter in person than on his Sports Illustrated cover. Nick knows this is the story of his career, and after spending his teenage years as a bullied, closeted teen, it hits very close to home. What he needs is to help Colin share his story while keeping their growing relationship from boiling over in the press, but what he wants is to tell the world.

EXCERPT:
Jack sat down on the rickety settle whilst Belle, the love of his heart busied herself making tea.
Cassie sat across from him, perching on a three-legged stool; furniture was sparse in the little cottage. ‘Jack dearest, this morning, we had a visitor by the name of Mr. Arkwright, who informed me my great grandpapa entailed part of his fortune to the female line. It is my good fortune to inherit one of his estates near Bath, and … the title of Countess.’
‘Good Lord Cassie, an estate you say?’
‘Yes, a ruined castle, messuages, villages, farms, meadows, pastures and livestock.’
‘You never mentioned you be rich Cass.’
‘I was not Jack; it was a delicate matter; my mother refused to speak of her parents. However, Mr. Arkwright informs us our grandmother was cast out by her family, because she eloped with a commoner.’
‘So you are—?’
‘Commoners too, and proud of it, but now that has all changed.’
Jack grinned. ‘Then I must doff my cap to you all.’
‘Oh no Jack,’ Belle murmured, stroking the rugged jaw.
‘I have the deeds here.’ Cassie said, walking to the dresser. Reaching up for the key, she unlocked a drawer, taking out the roll of parchments and handing them to him.
Jack saw the coat of arms and insignia. ‘I can’t read Cassie, but it looks grand. So I am sitting here in this kitchen with gentry.’
Belle laughed, taking his hand. ‘Cassie has inherited—’
‘Belle,’ Cassie interrupted. ‘I intend to share this good fortune with you, Rosamond, Amelia and Teddy.’ She smiled at the bright faces of her family. ‘Tis a dream come true.’

USA Today Best-Selling author, Katy Walters's e.books and paperbacks are read in their thousands, and her pages equally so, in Kindle Unlimited. Katy lives in the midst of Regency towns on the South Coast of England. Being of Welsh and Irish parentage, her novels tend towards Celtic themes. Her main interests are historical and regency romance with an underlying theme of time travel. She is equally drawn to the paranormal myths of the Dark Ages, the pre-medieval era, where the ancient Britons were known as the People of the Trees. It was an era of travelling knights and their ladies, of ancient shamans and shapeshifting wolves and dragons.
Katy’s enjoyed an eclectic career, delighting in every one of her occupations. Although her childhood dream was to be a writer, Katy endured some dark times in her young life that made it impossible for her to reach her goals. On leaving school, the office beckoned and became her prison, one she managed to escape taking up operatic singing. Katy was spotted in London by an agent who managed Tommy Steel and Cliff Richards to name a few. Becoming the lead singer in a girl trio, she toured England and abroad, meeting with some famous names of the day in the music world. On marrying the love of her life, she chose to raise a family, enjoying every moment with her spouse and children. Later on returning to university, Katy went on to enjoy a long and rich career as a research psychologist, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist.
Katy then took up painting and was thrilled with this new world. Her husband and family encouraged her all the way. Pop Art was her main love and to her delight, her paintings were used as the theme for a new restaurant built on Miami Beach. But then her first love, writing, beckoned, and she was in a position to write to her heart’s content. It was a dream come true when Amazon opened up the doors to publishing.
Even now Katy has times where she has to fight to banish those early memories in her life, memories she said, are like scars, they fade, but never go away. But in those times, she boots up the PC and turns to the next chapter in her life, embracing each new interest as a support that becomes a delight.

Greekulum Godissimus is notable for three traits: 1) awesome abilities, 2) grudges, and 3) hook-ups, break-ups, and in-fighting that puts cable to shame.
Prior to the Halloween dance, Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy teen yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. Then she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world.
Literally.
This breath stealing lip lock reawakens Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. She’s key to saving humanity in the war between the Underworld and Olympus, target numero uno of Hades and Zeus, and totally screwed.

My sucky first kiss or Why I write YA romantic comedy books.
I don't actually remember my first kiss. And believe me, it's not because there was such a variety of them in my teen years that it just got lost in the shuffle. Which, sigh, is probably another reason I write YA romantic comedy. At least my characters fare better than I did.
While I may not remember my actual first kiss, the first one I do remember is forever burned in my brain. I was fifteen years old and a cute boy (cute being relative to my age and the decade) had asked me to go to the fireworks with him.
Sounds romantic, doesn't it? Yeah, throw that idea out. Imagine you and ten thousand of your closest friends packed onto a beach to listen to a deafening soundtrack of rock ballads while watching the light show overhead. Now make at least half of those people drunk.
But silly, innocent girl that I was, I though this was going to be highly romantic - a night of cuddling with perhaps one perfect kiss as the final firework burst overhead and in that moment of silent awe, I would feel, nay hear our two hearts beat as one.
I remember that we got there about three hours early to secure a spot. The boy had not brought any kind of blanket, so this was three hours of sitting in sand, while families and yahoos settled in around us. But that was okay. It gave us a chance to talk, probably about such scintillating topics as which of our friends was screwing around on whom and what TV shows were we watching. I remember having overlooked the fact that he didn't read because he was cute. (Never again.) It did allow a pleasant sexual tension to build between us and by the time the sun had set and the show started, I was all ready for the hand holding to begin.
Now, skip the hand holding because in a blink, as the crowd around us roared and the first flare lit up the sky, I felt myself pushed back onto the sand and these giant lips come towards me. Tongue may have been hanging out. And while I can't remember that part exactly thanks to some very excellent trauma
repression, I do have a very clear memory of thinking, "this is going to be gross." Which then warred with the thought, "but I am about to be kissed." The kissing won out. Because I was 15 and stupid. But it was a curiously detached experience, with me trying to figure out if his lips were growing and what the polite amount of time was that I could allow this before I shoved him off me and grabbed a desperately wanted tissue to wipe off my face.
Forty minutes. That was the length of the fireworks show (of which I saw nothing) and the amount of time he kissed me with those massive, fleshy, wet lips. I take responsibility for not shutting down the action sooner, but my mother had raised me to be polite and I wasn't sure what the polite way to express "EW THIS IS SO DISGUSTING!" was.
So I kind of tuned out and focused on all the places that sand was creeping in. And not in a pleasant "yay friction" kind of way. At long long last, the show ended. At which point he did sweetly take my hand and we began the trek to the bus stop. I tried one last time to salvage my romantic ideals with a cuddle on the bus, but that seemed to give him the idea that I wanted to kiss some more. Which I so didn't. So I moved seats. And that was the first kiss I can remember having.
Which leads me, good people, to why I write YA romantic comedy. Because while I can appreciate the humour of awkward teen passion, I'm
determined to write girls who will push that boy off them for not being romantic. Or ruining the kissing experience. Girls who will say, "Nope. This isn't working for me." Who will make their boys smarten up and figure out how to treat a girl, even if they have to teach the guy themselves.
And I figure if I write enough great kisses, I'll end up believing that one of them was mine.

Tellulah Darling noun
Sassy girls. Swoony boys. What could go wrong?

1. YA romantic comedy author because her first kiss sucked and she's compensating.
2. Alter ego of former screenwriter.
3. Sassy minx.

Writes about: where love meets comedy. Awkwardness ensues.

Tellulah Darling is a firm believer that some of the best stories happen when love meets comedy. Which is why she has so much fun writing YA romantic comedy books. Her books span contemporary, teen fantasy romance, and YA Greek mythology, and range from stand alones to series. For Tellulah, teen romance is the most passionate, intense, and awkward there is – a comedy goldmine. Plus smart, mouthy, teen girls rock.
