Sometimes you reach a point
where you just can’t take any more — a breaking point, some call
it.
The
day I watched my husband murder the woman who was pregnant with his
child, my point didn’t just break, it exploded like a full
magazine’s worth of hollow points firing through the barrel of a
fully-automatic AK-47.
Literally.
I
am no longer his American Princess, nor am I his slave.
Now,
I’m a murderer in hiding. My name was Bryleigh Carter Oliveira, and
that was my story.
Translucent
is one woman's story of breaking free, starting over, and learning to
trust again through willful submission.
I was definitely impressed with Erin Noelle's writing. I read the synopsis and felt that this book would be one that I would really enjoy. Boy was I right! So, when I was able to get my hands on this book, I was super excited. Now I am so satisfied and would love to read more of Noelle's writings. My thoughts concerning this book are all positive. I like how Noelle directs the reader's attention to the different points of view in this book. That is one thing that makes this book standout, by giving the reader the insight of both main characters in the book. I also really liked how Noelle lead the reader into understanding domestic violence. Not only that, but she helps the reader to see that there are plenty of people that suffer in silence, due to domestic violence. That everyone that comes across as a misfit in society may not truly be a misfit but someone that is down on their luck or someone that happens to be an abused person. I really feel that it takes a courageous writer to go forth and spread the word about domestic violence. This, noelle did an excellent job in implementing.
Noelle helps the reader to see the clear and compelling points of control, domestic violence and most of all love after one has been truly hurt and destroyed from a previous partner.
I recommend this book for all readers that love an awesome love story; as well as a story that gives an inside look at the abuse perpetuated in domestic violence situations. I rate this book 4.5 stars and hope you too will enjoy it as much as I have.
* I was given Translucent in exchange for an honest rating and review. All opinions are mine and I was not compensated for them.
