I have had tried several different styles of earbuds over the past year. These were the ones that my boyfriend to a liking to right away. He worn them while doing the yard and said that they kept out the noise around him well. He found the quality of the sound great for the music he likes to listen to - Disturbed, Seven Mary Three, Pantera, and such. It did take him a few tries to get them to fit comfortably and securely for working in the yard when it was 100 degrees out. But everything he needed to do so was included with the set.
