I asked her to make a choice and deep down, I knew what it would be – our lives didn't go together, and they still don’t. She’s the head of a giant corporation and I’m a musician who spends months at a time on the road. We exist in different worlds and I can accept that because I’m not the boy I once was, I’m not the broken soul I once was either.
But the world is forever changing, and our professional worlds are merging. Suddenly, we’re keeping similar company. Suddenly, we’re back in each other’s orbit. Things have changed. I have changed. Now, I’m a man who knows what he wants. Now, I’m a man who won’t be playing any games. Now, I’m a man who’ll take what’s mine, and I won’t apologise – not to a single soul.
This is happening. I don’t care anymore. Abigail belongs with me – out in the open, in secret…up against the dressing room door…she belongs with me.
I’m taking what’s mine, and I won’t be sharing.
“I
want to have our story on stage, Seb. I think back, and sometimes it
feels so long ago that I can’t remember it clearly. I need it back.
I need those memories to be alive and vivid.”
“And
what do you think will happen when people see it? Don't you think
they’ll figure out it’s about us?”
“It
doesn't say they’re stepsiblings. It’s about fighting families.”
“The
answer is no, Abi. They are my songs and this is Thom’s production.
You don’t get a say. If you want to withdraw your funding, go for
it. I’ll fucking fund it myself.”
“I
don’t want to do that. I want to be a part of this.”
Her
hands are back on her hips again, and her brow is creased from her
exasperation. My thumb itches to smooth out the line in the centre. I
drop my gaze to try and cancel out my thoughts. But all I end up
doing is slowly raking my gaze down the length of her body. I feel my
body stir. I’m not doing this again. I’m not going through this
fight.
My
gaze drifts back to her eyes and locks for a moment before I speak.
“Take off your dress.”
Her
perfectly plump lips part in surprise and her cheeks immediately
flush. At the same time, she appears confused. “Excuse me?”
“Take
off your dress. Lie it over that chair,” I command, indicating the
sitting area in Andrew’s office.
“I
don’t…” she starts, her flush creeping to her chest as her
breasts rise and fall from her rapid breathing.
I
step toward her, slowly walking around her until I’m standing
against her back, whispering in her ear. Her breath catches when I
begin to speak.
“I’m
not doing this with you again, Abi. I’m not having you come back
into my life, showing up wherever I am, only to tell me that I still
can’t have you. I’m not fighting what’s between us because
you’re worried about what the world might think. I don’t give a
fuck about the world. I don’t give a fuck about your commitments.
What I give a fuck about is what I want. And right now...” I lower
my mouth to the curve of her neck and lightly brush my lips along its
curve until I return to her ear. “I want you to take off this dress
and hang it over the back of that chair.”
She
gasps and trembles, and I reach up to undo her zip to halfway,
exposing the black silk of her bra, gently running my fingers over
her exposed skin. “I also care about what you want, Abi. I know you
want this. You wouldn't be back in my life if it weren't to satisfy a
craving. I’m going to give it to you, Abi. I’m going to bend you
over that desk, and I’m going to take you while people wait for us
in a conference room down the hall. And when it’s over, you can
leave, or you can come back for more. It’s up to you. But I won’t
fight again, Abi. I’ll be honest about what I want. Will you?”
She
sucks in her breath and steps away from me, my cock strains against
the zip of my jeans as my eyes see the milky white skin through her
open dress. She reaches behind her and holds it in place so it won’t
fall then she turns around to face me. So beautiful and flushed. I
wonder if she's going to go through with this.
